Parque Natural del Delta de L'Ebre
The area of this natural space, situated in Tarragona, is 350 square kilometres, while the width of the river, according to the area, oscillated between 160 and 380 metres, with an average depth of 3 to 5 metres.
The flat lands give the Ebro Delta a unique landscape aesthetic. It is possible to find everything from areas of horticultural crops and orchards to rice paddies. Nevertheless, there are great pools surrounded by giant reed beds and rushes in coastal part. The periphery of this Nature Reserve is characterised by salty soils and large,deserted, sandy beaches with dunes.
Its important aquatic habitat stands out. The vegetation of the Ebro Delta is extremely rich, 515 species are catalogued. As for the fauna, the invertebrates and vertebrates stand out.
La Casa de Fusta is an information centre and ornithological museum. At the same time, the Regional Museum of Montsàtres exhibits aspects of the region and the Ecomuseum of the Nature Reserve shows diverse interesting aspects of the Ebro Delta.
