Cheap rent a car on Rhodes with Hispacar.com

Rhodes, in the eastern part of the Aegean Sea, is an island that belongs to Greece. It is the largest of the Dodecanese Archipelago. Its capital is also named Rhodes. The island of Rhodes is further to Greece mainland than to Asia Minor. The climate in Rhodes is warm, in fact there are only two seasons: Spring and summer and there is an average of 300 sunny days in a year with temperatures of 25º.

Rhodes is well known for the Ancient Colossus, one of the world wonders and although it was destroyed, there is still much to see: The Castle of Monolithos, The Castle of Kastellos, the Palace of the prince Grand Master, Tsambika Peak, Filerimos Hill, Epta Piges, and The Street of Knights. Many tourists choose the Island of Rhodes as holiday destination because of the beautiful beaches of Lindos, Kalithea, Ladiko, Faliraki, Kolymbia, Afandou, Agia Marina or Gennadi Beach.

The roads in Rhodes are mostly paved and modern. The tourists can travel in one of the 450 taxis available on the island, or using one of the two bus lines: KTEL and RODA, or even renting a car in one of the cities or even in the airport. There is a varied offer of car rental in Rhodes. The most commonly used car hire companies are Orion Car Rental, Eurocars, Budget, Europe Travel and Rhodes Kosmos car hire. You can use the vehicle to travel to other villages outside the city of Rhodes such as Trianta, Paradisi, Embona, Afantou, Pefkos, Koskinou, Faliraki or Haraki.

All tourists arrive by plane and sea. There are three ports in Rhodes City and two more ports in the rest of the island. Yachts and international traffic arrive in Akandia, Kolona and Central Port.

Rhodes Diagoras International Airport is one of the largest in Greece and is the only public airport in Rhodes. There are flights arriving from most European cities, and other cities like Istanbul and Tel Aviv. Many of the airline companies are Greek (Kattavia, Aegean Airlines, Adria Airways) although most of them are European (Air Berlin, Alitalia, Cyprus Airways, German Wings).
