Hotel San Jorge

The rural hotel San Jorge is located in a quiet but still central part of the village Alcalá de los Gazules, right in the heart of the andalusian province of Cadiz in southern Spain.

Since 1964 the 2 star hotel has been serving tourists and business travellers from all over the world. Guests can choose between different room categories and services. As most of the guests arrive by car, Hotel San Jorge provides car parking facilities for free. You can hire vehicles directly at Jerez airport; there is an excellent communication via the highway A-381 and it takes less than half an hour's drive to reach the rural villa. It's about the same distance from Gibraltar airport. More car hire companies are present at Sevilla airport or train station Santa Justa, from where you have to reckon 1.5 hours to get to Hotel San Jorge.

Driving through the beautiful surroundings, you will find a wide range of cultural and leisure activities: horse riding, mountain biking and hunting just to name a few. The Los Alcornocales Natural Park offers a variety of hiking trails; the information center of the park is ideally located in Alcala de los Gazules. This protected area of cork oak trees stretches from Grazalema down to the Straits of Gibraltar, the connection between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. Together with Tarifa, this region is one of the best places in Europe for birdwatching.

In Tarifa, whale watching has become very popular in the past few years and several companies in and around Tarifa and Algeciras offer boat trips for visitors in order to see dolphins and whales in their natural surroundings.

The most beautiful beaches in Spain are about 50 km away from Hotel San Jorge. You can go kitesurfing in Tarifa, surfing at the beach of Conil de la Frontera or just relax and take a sunbath.

Alcala de los Gazules forms part of the White Villages and the Bull Route, which include places of touristic interest like Medina-Sidonia, Jerez de la Frontera, Grazalema Natural Park, Setenil de las Bodegas, Ronda and Arcos de la Frontera, which has been declared capital of the White Villages.

At Malaga airport the number of local spanish car hire companies is larger than in Jerez, but at both airports you will find multinationals like Hertz, Enterprise, Europcar or Avis.
