A charming little hostel in the Lecrin valley
Hostel Almora is a traditional Andalucian village house in the Lecrin valley which has been carefully converted into a charming little hostel.
The accommodation, located in the heart of Nigüelas, has a sleeping capacity for 6 persons in one shared bedroom and a separate double bedroom. There is one bathroom for the use of all guests. The small roof terrace offers lovely views of the village and the valley of the lecrin river.
Nigüelas lies within easy reach of the Granada and is well connected with the capital of the province by public transport. Nevertheless a rent a car may be the best option for international travelers, outdoor enthusiasts or hikers as the most interesting places in the area like the Alpujarras or the Sierra Nevada are best visited by car.
The Lecrin Valley is one of the best kept secrets of rural Andalusia. It is situated between the Alpujarra mountain range and the Sierra Nevada just 30 minutes by car south of Granada. Despite of the altitude of the majority of the villages like Albuñuelas, Dúrcal Villamena, Restábal or Cónchar even in winter tourists can experience the almond trees in full bloom and the orange and lemon trees full of fruits.
During the warmer summer months the public swimming pools in Mondújar and Padul or the beaches of the nearby Costa Tropical offer plenty of possibilities to spend the day without getting to hot.
